A few weeks ago I had a chat with a group of milliners (hat makers ;)) about the unique struggles that face their business category. While we discuss how it's hard to sell handmade hats because it's an item people aren't used to paying "handmade prices" for or how Etsy and other ecommerce platforms don't have categories that accurately reflects what they do, much of the struggles they face are ones that most makers can identify with. They are smart and passionate about their craft and when obstacles come up they have banded together to see how they can fix them.
